CHANONEE DISTRICT #5 of the Boy Scouts Three Fires Council recently awarded 30 scouts for their voluntary participation in our bi annual METRA RAIL CERT TRAINING. The scouts served as victims aboard our Metra Train in a simulated disaster. Additionally several boys earned a merit badge in Homeland Security. Dave Garber ran the event for the CERT team which trained about 100 members.

Richard Truitt was honored March 13, 2012 by the Milton Township Supervisor , Chris Heidorn ,
and Forest Preserve Commissioner Mike Formento for his service in World War II and his discovery of a rare Native Prairie in West Chicago . For Details please see the ProclamationHERE

Recognition of Citizenship

 

Congratulations! At the February Board Meeting, Milton Township Supervisor, O. Chris Heidorn, presented an American flag, that had been flown over the Capital of Washington D.C. to Flora Izeiri Iliazi, a DuPage County resident. Ms. Iliazi, who originates from Macedonia, became a nationalized citizen in 2011 at the age of 25. Along with the flag was a letter from Congressman, Peter Roskam, welcoming her to our country as a fellow citizen.
